16th Annual Prayer for Peace Marian Conference
November 6 - 7, 2010
Theme: "Punching Holes in the Darkness."
We warmly welcome you to our 16th Annual Prayer for Peace Conference. Most of you will agree that we are living in a world of darkness. The purpose of this year's conference is to learn how to punch holes in the darkness so that we can truly live in the light - the light of Jesus Christ.
On November 6 - 7, 2010, we will meet and hear from people who are "lamplighters." As we listen to their stories, we'll discover ways to shed some light on the darkness in our own lives and to spread that light to those around us.
Please complete this registration form and mail it to us to sign up for the conference. Tickets are $50 for adults if ordered by 09/01/2010, and $25 for youth under 18 years of age. Tickets for priests and religious are complimentary.
Speakers include:
Visionary Ivanka Elez was the first person to see the Mother of God in Medjugorje. She continues to see and converse with Our Lady every June 25th. Known as “The Hidden Visionary”, Ivanka maintained a private life while raising her three young children. Now, she is responding to Our Lady’s direction to spread the messages of Medjugorje throughout the world. Pictured here in Medjugorje, with the Tobins’ Grandchildren, this visionary will inspire you with her sincerity, her simplicity and her faithfulness. Listen as she describes Our Lady’s apparitions and messages and recounts the day Our Lady brought Ivanka’s deceased mother from Heaven to be with her! We are honored and delighted to have Ivanka with us!
Father Donald Calloway, MIC, will tell us of his journey from a life of darkness and drugs to a total conversion that eventually led him to the priesthood. All ages are inspired by his presentation. Be sure to bring your teens and young adults. Please visit Fr. Donald's website at Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC.
Father Nick Mormando, OFM, CAP, comes to us from Hendersonville, NC where he is pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish. His decision to become a priest was prompted by a message in Medjugorje. His deep spirituality is contagious!

Fr. David Toups, Pastor of Christ the King Parish in Tampa, Florida, is a young, dynamic priest who has held positions as Seminary Dean of Students, retreat master to the Missionaries of Charity, Executive Director of the USCCB's Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations, and more. Once you meet Fr. David, you will never forget him! Please visit Fr. David's blog at Pastor's Blog Christ the King Church.
Sister Pauline Quinn, OP, has a most compelling story, a portion of which was made in to a Lifetime Television Movie: Within These Walls, starring Laura Dern and Ellyn Burstyn. Come and hear how this simple nun turned personal tragedy into triumph. Please visit Sr. Pauline's websites at Sr Pauline of the Cross, OP, Prison Dogs, and her amazing photo blog The Journey.
Plus Fr. Joseph Amalfitano (a healing priest), Zelijka Rozic from Medjugorje, Communita Cenacolo, Mike & Sandy Tobin, music by the Renfroe Family and much, much more!
We've taken a huge leap of faith this year. Due to the economic situation that most of us are struggling with, we reduced the price of admission to this year’s conference by $10. (We’d like everyone to be able to participate!) Multiply that by the number of attendees and you’ll understand what we mean by a leap of faith! We’re depending on the collections to make up the difference.
Facilitating this conference is a tremendous amount of work, not to mention a big financial risk. For the past few years, we’ve barely broken even. But the physical, emotional and spiritual healings that take place every year, along with all of the other positive feedback we continue to receive, has compelled us to continue for another year. It has always been our belief that, if even one life is touched, or one soul comes closer to the Lord, that, alone, is worth more than all of the time, effort and resources that it takes to put on this two-day even. Practically speaking, however, the conference MUST pay for itself.
But we need to do more than just cover our costs. There are children whose very lives are dependent on revenue from this conference. We need funds to bring critically ill children to this country for life-saving surgery. Money is also needed for surgery and related expenses, prosthetic limbs, diagnostic testing and treatment for epilepsy, physical therapy, diabetic test strips, help for specific children with special needs, food, bus money for school, medical equipment, building materials, and the list goes on.
