Dear Family and Friends,
Here in Jacksonville, we are having our own celebration of this special day. Little Fadila is taking her mended heart and going home to her host family, the Saunders!
The next few weeks will be filled with follow-up doctor's appointments, tests and much healing. We are so grateful to Maureen and Dick Saunders for providing a home, transportation to all of these appointments and loving care for Fadila and Fika.
We are also asking for some additional prayers. For Fadila to have the best chance of complete recovery, we cannot return her to the shack in the dump where they sleep on the ground and try to keep warm by burning wood inside the shack. The smoke alone could kill her!
We plan to come back for a visit in the next couple of weeks and then will take mother and baby to our house when it is safe for her to leave Jacksonville. Once we have the "all clear", I will be taking them back to Bosnia.
In the meantime, a friend of ours, Janet, has been working on the housing situation. The house that I told you about earlier might not be for sale now as the owners are thinking of living in it themselves. If all else fails, we'll be looking into purchasing a couple of containers. Janet went to look at them at the factory where they are made. They come with a door and a window, something like a mobile home but without any frills - just a box. Other families have been able to make them into homes and it would be so much better than what the family has now. The problem with that is finding a place to put them. The government has a lot of land so Janet is looking into that, too. We're just hopeful that we can get this all into place before I take the baby back to Bosnia.
We're in need of donations to help Fadila and her family. Please visit our donation page for details on how you can help.
If you have any spare change in the bottom of your sofa, or recently won the lottery, we could really use some help! We have lots to pray for! Please join us in prayer for this precious little girl and her family.
