Dear Family and Friends,
We have learned more about the 6-year-old boy who was killed when his Mom’s car accidentally rolled over him. Some of the details we received and sent to you initially were incorrect.

Kevin
The little boy’s name was Kevin and he was the middle child of seven. His mother had returned home with all of the children in the car and parked in their driveway which was on a steep slope. She got out of the car, let the older children out of the vehicle and was assisting the younger children when the car suddenly rolled backwards. Kevin was behind the car, which struck him and then ran over him, killing him instantly.
The tragedy occurred on August 26, 2010; the one year anniversary is this coming Friday. Father John, who contacted us, stated that Denise, Kevin’s mother, has been inconsolable and unable to leave her home since Kevin died. Father has been visiting and praying with the family regularly. His recent prayer and conversation with Kevin’s Mom regarding Our Lady of Medjugorje has brought about a glimmer of hope and she has expressed a desire to go to Medjugorje. Father contacted us, hoping we would be able to take the couple to Medjugorje with us next month.
The following is an excerpt from a story about Kevin that was written by his Dad, Dan:
“Kevin was born on April 6, 2004. From the moment that beautiful baby with his huge dimples came into our lives, his mother called him “Kevin from Heaven”. He was a great baby who loved to eat and take long naps. As Kevin grew older, his quiet ways and almost painfully shy personality slowly began to fade. He loved his 3 older brothers- Colin, Danny and Michael- very much, always feeling like he was “one of the guys”. Whether it was whiffle ball or football in the backyard, going fishing with his dad and brothers, or going to the park with Mom, Kevin treasured every minute with his family and friends.
We welcomed 3 more children after Kevin- Meghan, Joseph and Tommy- and we continued our routine. Kevin was a great brother and could easily play with the big ones and the smaller ones just the same, being the middle child of seven, he had to!
“In the fall of 2009, Kevin entered Kindergarten at St. Luke’s Catholic School. Kevin made many new friends and did well in the classroom. After watching his older brothers go off to school every day for the previous few years, he couldn’t wait to follow in their footsteps. He also played soccer, basketball and baseball. Even at the age of 6, Kevin had a real competitive edge, and did not like to lose. Kevin’s love for his home town sports teams, especially the Phillies, has become well known over the last few months. He was loyal and always stuck with his teams, no matter what the score.
“It has been a difficult, painful time since the accident. Someone recently told us the reason we have so much pain, is because the more love that exists, the more it hurts when that person is gone. This couldn’t be truer.”
Some of you have responded with the promise of prayers for this grieving family and some wonderful donations are on the way to help make it possible for us to take this Mom and Dad to Medjugorje where, hopefully, they will find some inner peace. Thank you, so very much.
